Marine Science National Program

The national Marine Sciences program brings together 7 autonomous communities (Andalusia, Cantabria, Valencia, Galicia, Murcia, Canary Islands and Balearic Islands) with the commitment to integrate and promote all marine research in these regions and with the overall objective of creating a network of centers of excellence to cooperatively address challenges in marine research, aquaculture, new technologies, impacts on the marine environment and the blue economy.

In this sense, the program will develop a research, innovation and transfer network to integrate and develop three basic lines of action.

The Complementary Plan for R&D&I in marine sciences ThinkInAzul brings together 7 autonomous communities (Andalusia, Cantabria, Valencia, Galicia, Region of Murcia, Canary Islands and Balearic Islands) with the commitment to integrate and promote all marine research in these regions and with the general objective of creating a network of centers of excellence to cooperatively address challenges in marine research, sustainable aquaculture, new technologies, impacts on the marine environment, food sovereignty, climate change in Spain and the blue economy.

In this sense, the program will develop a research, innovation and transfer network to integrate and develop three basic lines of action: Observation and monitoring of the marine and coastal environment; sustainable, intelligent and precision aquaculture; and blue economy, innovation and opportunities.

ThinkInAzul Valencian Community

The ThinkInAzul of the Valencian Community (GVA-ThinkInAzul) is a consortium made up of 39 research groups that brings together more than 370 researchers from the CSIC, the University of Alicante, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Valencia, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, the Jaume I University and the Catholic University of Valencia.
