National Marine Sciences Program ThinkInAzul

The national Marine Sciences program brings together 7 autonomous communities (Andalusia, Cantabria, the Valencian Community, Galicia, the Region of Murcia, the Canary Islands, and the Balearic Islands) with a commitment to integrating and promoting all marine research in these regions and with the overall objective of creating a network of centers of excellence to cooperatively address challenges in marine research, aquaculture, new technologies, impacts on the marine environment, and the blue economy.

In this sense, through the program a research, innovation and transfer network will be developed that will allow the integration and development of three basic lines of action.

The ThinkInAzul Complementary Plan for R&D&I in marine sciences brings together seven autonomous communities (Andalusia, Cantabria, the Valencian Community, Galicia, the Region of Murcia, the Canary Islands, and the Balearic Islands) with the commitment to integrate and promote all marine research in these regions and with the general objective of creating a network of centers of excellence to cooperatively address challenges in marine research, sustainable aquaculture, new technologies, impacts on the marine environment, food sovereignty, climate change in Spain, and the blue economy.

In this regard, the program will develop a research, innovation, and transfer network that will integrate and develop three basic lines of action: Observation and monitoring of the marine and coastal environmentsustainable, smart, and precision aquacultureblue economy, innovation and opportunities.
