Program

The ThinkInAzul Marine Science programme brings together 7 autonomous communities (Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Valencia, Galicia and Murcia) with the commitment to integrate and strengthen marine research in these regions, while promoting a network of centres of excellence to cooperatively address challenges in marine research, aquaculture and blue economy initiatives.

The ThinkInAzul of the Valencian Community (GVA-ThinkInAzul) is a consortium made up of 39 research groups that brings together more than 360 researchers from the CSIC, the University of Alicante, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Valencia, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, the Jaume I University and the Catholic University of Valencia.

The GVA-ThinkInAzul is organised into 8 work packages, one for coordination and 7 for research with more than 80 tasks linked to the 3 Lines of Action of the National Plan (A1. monitoring and Observation of the Coastal and Marine Environment; A2. Aquaculture; A3. Blue Economy).

Each of the GVA-ThinkInAzul work packages is coordinated by one or two researchers, designated on the basis of criteria of scientific excellence, gender equality and territorial balance.
