This work package coordinates the overall functioning of the project, promoting collaboration between the working groups, the dissemination of results and the achievement of the established objectives.
It is composed by the coordinator Jaume Pérez-Sánchez from IATS-CSIC, the co-coordinator Carlos Valle Pérez from the University of Alicante and María Hernández Marín from IATS-CSIC as Project Manager.
It also has the support of Linkia in the development of the website and Plàncton Divulgació and Serveis Marins in the communication of the project.
Jaume Pérez-Sánchez, Research Professor at CSIC (Instituto de Acuicultura Torre de la Sal, IATS), has been director of IATS (2000-2011) and member of the CSIC’s Agricultural Sciences Area Commission (2012-2016). He is currently Deputy Technical Director of the IATS. He has been CSIC PI in 8 EU Projects (3 of them active). He is currently Coordinator of the Next Generation Marine Science Programme of the Valencian Community (GVA-ThinkInAzul). He is the head of the Nutrigenomics group at IATS (CSIC1) since its creation (www.nutrigroup.iats-org). He is the author of more than 200 publications and has supervised more than 15 PhD Theses (orcid.org/0000-0003-2506-1523).
Carlos Valle has been a biologist since 1995 and holds a PhD in Marine Sciences from the University of Alicante. He is currently Professor of the Department of Marine Sciences and Applied Biology, Vice-Dean of Quality of the Faculty of Sciences and Coordinator of the Degree in Marine Sciences. From the research point of view, he has participated in more than 120 projects, has more than 109 national and international scientific and technical publications, more than 100 contributions to congresses and 3 sexenios of research recognised.
In terms of nautical training, he is a skipper and professional diver and has more than 25 years of experience as a Diving Instructor. His professional experience includes 8 years working in fish farms.
María Hernández Marín has a degree in Biotechnology and a Master in Bioengineering from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH). For three years, she worked as a research assistant at the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV), where she specialized in the study of viral RNA by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. Throughout this period, she participated in several national and international research projects. Currently, she has oriented her career towards the management of scientific projects and holds the position of Project Manager in the Complementary Plan of Marine Sciences of the Valencian Community, in GVA-ThinkInAzul, attached to the CSIC1 group in IATS-CSIC.
