WP8 - Coordination

This work package coordinates the overall operation of the project, fostering collaboration between working groups, disseminating results, and achieving established objectives.

It is composed of coordinator Jaume Pérez-Sánchez of IATS-CSIC, co-coordinator Carlos Valle Pérez of the University of Alicante, and María Hernández Marín of IATS-CSIC as Project Manager.

It also has the support of Linkia in the development of the website and of Plàncton Divulgació and Serveis Marins in the communication of the project.

Jaume Perez-Sanchez

Jaume Pérez-Sánchez, Research Professor at the CSIC (Torre de la Sal Aquaculture Institute, IATS), was Director of the IATS (2000-2011) and member of the CSIC Agricultural Sciences Area Commission (2012-2016). He is currently Technical Deputy Director of the IATS. He has been CSIC PI in 8 EU Projects (3 of them active). He is currently Coordinator of the Next Generation Marine Sciences Program of the Valencian Community (GVA-ThinkInAzul). He is responsible for the Nutrigenomics group at IATS (CSIC1) since its creation (www.nutrigroup.iats-org). He is the author of more than 200 publications and has supervised more than 15 doctoral theses (orcid.org/0000-0003-2506-1523).

Carlos Valle Perez

University of Alicante

Carlos Valle has been a biologist since 1995 and holds a PhD in Marine Sciences from the University of Alicante. He currently serves as a Full Professor in the Department of Marine Sciences and Applied Biology, Vice Dean of Quality in the Faculty of Sciences, and Coordinator of the Degree in Marine Sciences. In terms of research, he has participated in more than 120 projects, has over 109 national and international scientific and technical publications, over 100 conference contributions, and three recognized six-year research grants.
Regarding his nautical training, he is a skipper and professional diver with over 25 years of experience as a diving instructor. His professional experience includes eight years working on fish farms.


María Hernández Marín

María Hernández Marín holds a degree in Biotechnology and a Master's degree in Bioengineering from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH). For three years, she worked as a research assistant at the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV), where she specialized in the study of viral RNA using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. During this period, she participated in various national and international research projects. Currently, she has oriented her career towards scientific project management and holds the position of Project Manager for the Complementary Plan for Marine Sciences of the Valencian Community, at GVA-ThinkInAzul, part of the group.
