Christmas is approaching, and during this special time, we want to pause and reflect on everything that has happened in 2024. After the challenging situation caused by the DANA, it is time to come together more than ever and look ahead with hope. This year, at ThinkInAzul Comunidad Valenciana, we have reached important milestones that reflect the hard work and dedication of our teams. Thanks to collective effort, we have made significant progress in advancing our mission to contribute to the knowledge and preservation of the marine environment. Here’s a look at the most noteworthy highlights!
Official Presentation of the Aquaculture Europe 2025 Congress
One of the year’s highlights was the announcement of Valencia as the host city for the Aquaculture Europe 2025 Congress, positioning it as the global epicenter of sustainable aquaculture. Additionally, Professor Jaume Pérez, coordinator of the GVA-ThinkInAzul project, will chair the congress steering committee, underscoring the importance of aquaculture research in the Valencian Community.
Recognition in the Stanford 2024 List
The scientific excellence of the ThinkInAzul team from the Valencian Community has been remarkably recognized: 19 researchers from the team have been included in the prestigious Stanford 2024 list, ranking among the top 2% of the most influential researchers worldwide.
Over 90 SCI Articles Published
In 2024, we surpassed the milestone of 90 articles published in journals indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI). These publications reflect the rigor and relevance of our research in areas such as sustainability, marine biodiversity, and technology applied to the marine environment.
Participation in Over 90 Conferences
To date, our scientific community has had a significant presence at over 60 international and 30 national conferences, contributing to the exchange of knowledge, fostering collaborations, and showcasing our initiatives on a global scale.
Innovation: 4 New Patents
In the field of innovation, we continue to make great strides, with 4 patents already registered, showcasing our commitment to applied research and the development of sustainable solutions for the challenges facing the marine environment.
Fostering Talent: 10 Doctoral Theses Defended
Young talent is essential for the future of science. By the end of 2024, 10 doctoral theses have been defended within the framework of the ThinkInAzul project in the Valencian Community, contributing to the development of specialized knowledge and strengthening the academic foundation of our community.
Bringing Science Closer to Society
Beyond laboratories and classrooms, we have worked to bring science closer to society. Through various citizen science activities and knowledge transfer programs, we have helped raise awareness about marine preservation, inspiring communities and individuals to protect our ecosystems.
These achievements are the result of the passion, commitment, and collaboration of everyone involved in the ThinkInAzul project in the Valencian Community.
