This research group focuses its research activity on the blue economy and, specifically, on the socio-economic analysis of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. In this particular project they aim to study and provide solutions to the problem of generational replacement in the Valencian fishing sector, also play a key role in the work package 7, Blue Economy, aquaculture-marine environment interaction, citizen science.

The research group is made up of different economists and sociologists from the UPV who have been working for years with the sector and the fisheries administration. In this sense, they lead several research and transfer projects, are part of various national and international networks and have published in leading journals in the sector. Specifically, the research group is formed by Luis Miret, Roberto Cervelló, Paloma Herrera and Josep Pons.
