CSIC Converge EBTón 2024: FishBIT Integromics proposal moves to final phase

The proposal FishBIT Integromics, involving researchers from the Nutrigenomics Group of IATS (CSIC1) and the National Microelectronics Center of CSIC, has passed to the final phase of the EBTón organized by CSIC Converge. This is an initiative that seeks to promote entrepreneurship among CSIC staff and encourage the transfer of knowledge through the creation of Knowledge-Based companies. On October 10, the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC) will host the session in which the winning proposals will be decided.

In the previous phase of the event, held over two days at Las Naves in Valencia, 19 CSIC research groups participated and presented their proposals to develop Technology Based Companies (TBCs). Participants received mentoring and training sessions on entrepreneurship and business presentations.

The FishBIT Integromics proposal, which has passed to the final phase of this EBTón after the presentation of a pitch, is an integrative analysis platform for monitoring the welfare status of farmed fish, which incorporates behavioral measures through proprietary patented technology (FishBIT device, included in the CSIC 2024 Catalog of technologies with greater commercial potential) and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques for the evaluation of results and certification of welfare audits.
