
22 Jan Cádiz to Host the XV International Symposium on Genetics in Aquaculture
From May 11 to 17, 2025, Cádiz will become the epicenter of genetic research in aquaculture during the XV International Symposium on Genetics in Aquaculture (ISGA XV). This event, organized by the University of Cádiz (UCA), IFAPA, and CEI·MAR, will feature a program covering crucial topics such as biotechnology, functional genomics and transcriptomics, genomic prediction, quantitative genetics and selective breeding, genetics of diseases and stress, genomes and gene editing, and more. The symposium aims to foster dialogue between scientists from around the world and industry stakeholders to drive innovation in aquaculture.
With important deadlines on the agenda, abstracts must be submitted by January 15, 2025, and early registration will be available until March 31 of the same year. In addition to presentations and technical workshops, the event will feature cultural activities and tourist visits in the region. Cádiz, renowned for its fishing tradition and focus on sustainability, will provide an inspiring setting that combines its rich cultural heritage with its leadership in the blue economy.
